Greek Isles

Hi PMC Members,

Wanted to let you know about our recent Greek Island Cruising as well as all the other trips we have completed in Europe this Aussie winter.

The PMC tour group was welcomed on board with champagne and guided to our luxuriously appointed rooms that would be our homes for the next 7 nights on the lovely Silver Seas ship.
We left Istanbul in the evening and as we sailed through the Dardenelles in the early morning light, we were struck by a sombre awareness that we were experiencing, in reverse, some of the voyage that our ANZACS made over 100 years ago.

The staff on our ship ensured our cruise was the ultimate luxury and we had 24h hour attention from our assigned Butlers, with early morning trays of tea in our rooms to get us going. Our ports of destination were Dikili and Kusadasi in Turkey, as well as the islands of Patmos, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes and then into Athens. At each port we had the option of an organised tour by the ship or to wander around the islands on our own and we were blown away by the breathtaking beauty of the islands, the simplicity of the lifestyles of the inhabitants and the extremely well preserved medieval history in many of the areas.

Memorable highlights of the cruise, were the beautiful crystal clear blue waters,
the evening symphony orchestra at the relics in Ephesus, the steep steps and donkey rides of Santorini and Patmos, the medieval walled city of Rhodes and the religious relics on display in St John’s Monastery in Patmos.

On board ship, there was plenty to entertain you – the BBQ dinners where you cooked your own steak or seafood on hot slabs of rock at the table, were very popular, as well as the stunning theatre nights performed by the talented crew members.

The cruise was a Bucket List item for many and a chance to celebrate significant life milestones-
it was certainly a special trip to remember and one we will relive many times!
We wish you could have joined us..
