Traditionally Sydney has used its magnificent Harbour as a backdrop to celebrate the founding of our country.  This year the PMC were invited by Life Members Rob & Grace Duncan to share the day with them and the Sydney Jazz Club following the various harbour activities/celebrations.  20 PMC members attend the event.

We gathered at Darling Harbour (King Street Wharf) ready to board the ferry at 10:00 for a day of relaxation and enjoyment.  We were entertained by members of the Jazz club as we waited to board.

On board we found our allotted tables as the boat headed into the hustle and bustle of the harbour showing itself of to the world and its citizens.  We head under the bridge and join the throng following the ferry boat race up and down the harbour. The option of the air conditioned cbin soon gave way to the call of the fresh harbour breezes as we head to the outer viewing decks to watch and soak up the atmosphere of the day and the sensational harbour that is laid before us to enjoy and marvel at.

This event was put on as a trial to gauge interest in an activity associated with the Australia Day public Holiday in Sydney and its harbour activities.  Our Life Members Rob & Grace Duncan are members of the Sydney Jazz Club who hold a harbour cruise on Australia Day each year.  It was suggested that PMC members may be interested in attending especially if they have an interest in listening to good jazz in a relaxed atmosphere.  For the PMC this was a social event for members who wished to attend.

As a first we did limit numbers to 20 to get a feel for interest should we decide to hold something similar in following years.  Overall the day was a great success and all who attended had a relaxing and marvellous time expressing an interest in returning again to this tremendous venue of the harbour.
